4Great helmet with few gripes.
By Michael Scosyrev
I've purchased HJC Cl Max II helmet several weeks ago and really like it overall. I've ridden it only at speeds no greater than 40 miles per hour so I can't comment on what it would be like at highway motorcycle speeds.

Pros:
- It's much quieter than the 3/4 Torc helmet I was using before. I even felt like something was wrong with the horn when I used in the new helmet. It was so much quieter.

- Protection from the wind, at least at 40 mph is great. I don't have any wind hitting my eyes or my face overall. And don't even need to wear glasses with the chin and glass in the down position.

- The latch work very well. It is very smooth and easy to open. The latch is metal so it should be more durable than the plastic ones that many modular helmets use.

- The ventilation seems ok. It's not particularly noticeable, but I also didn't get sweaty in it while riding in 85 F weather.

Cons:

-It's on the heavy side . I felt my neck being more stressed than when wearing a 3/4 helmet. Maybe it's just normal for the modular design.

- The strap is ok, but not as easy to use as on my old Torc helmet, which had a little piece of fabric on the ring which made it easier to put the strap through.

- The front ventilation opening always get accidentally opened or closed when raising the face chin. A bit annoying.

Overall I am pretty happy with this helmet. Its modular features work well. It seems to be well manufactured. It's comfortable and the lining looks like it's of good quality. I would recommend this helmet to someone considering a modular helmet in the 150$ range. Got mine from Amazon and it was delivered in less than 3 days.
