Great Helmet For A Great Price

I bought this helmet after shopping around and comparing on Amazon and trying on different helmets in store. Though I did not buy from Amazon (or their affiliate, rather) because another site had a nice promotion going I came back to write a review because I use Amazon as my primary research source.

Fit:

I have a more round head and it fits perfectly. I used the size chart available on the website that I purchased it from and used the centimeter circumference measurement rather than hat size or even inches. 57-58cm is a Medium, which is what I picked out. It's snug on the cheeks but I think it's because there is no actual padding in chin portion of the flip up. The Coolmax padding is nice and removable for washing.

Function:

The flip up works well and the button didn't need to be worn in for me. It gives a satisfying "thunk" when all the way raised to let you know it's all the way up. The visors (yes, visors. The clear on e is on the helmet and a smoke tinted one is included in the box in it's own bag. The helmet also has a nice, soft bag) are a little tricky to change out at first if you aren't used to the mechanism but once you do it a couple of times it's a breeze.

Ventilation:

There is a vent in the chin that is very effective since there is no padding to go through and the head vents seem to work well. If it's humid there tends to be a slight fog when I was breathing but it never builds up into my vision.

Overall I am really happy with my new helmet. There is lots of room in the ears if I want to use my mp3 player and not pinch my glasses' frames into my skull when I wear them. It's pretty awesome all around. I would recommend Gmax to anyone who is looking for a nice helmet without a heinous price. Granted, it's not as quite as a solid full faced helmet but with what you get for the price, I can live with that.

The helmet is exactly what I wanted. It looks and fits great. Visor fogged a litte when first put it on, but it was a really cold day and cleared up quickly. This was not delivered on time but there was some bad weather so I am sure that is why.

Good quality helmet

I purchased this helmet as I needed to have something for riding on cold days. I have another helmet at home, different brand, which is a large and fits perfect. Using the manufacturers sizing chart on this new helmet, I was on the lower size end of a medium. I ordered the medium, and if anything, it may be a tiny bit big. Nothing to exchange over, but it would have been nice to try on a small just to see. Shows the major differences between sizing helmets. The helmet is of good quality and easy to use. All the vents are somewhat small, but I like that. Do have some fogging issues, but I also drive in 25 degree mornings. The eye shield opens easily as does the total visor. The visors are easily exchangeable and the helmet comes with both a clear and tinted visor. Overall, very comfortable and nice looking. It is a black matte finish, so expect that even laying the helmet on a gravely ground may create some scratching.
